Description:

This intermediate course will explore challenges, ethical dilemmas, and best practices for occupational therapy practitioners (OTPs) when working with adults and older adults across the continuum of care. Participants will learn how to assess situations, understand reimbursement and eligibility criteria, learn policies and regulations, and problem-solve case studies. Through lived experience shares and problem-based learning activities, attendees will gain practical skills to better recommend continued skilled occupational therapy services.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
  1. Identify how reimbursement and eligibility criteria impact discharge planning at every level of care across the continuum when working with adults and older adults.
  2. Develop strategies to effectively identify challenges and opportunities for best practice.
  3. Discuss ethical considerations and dilemmas that impact practice.
