"Voices of the Marginalized: Neuroscience and Trauma Intervention Strategies"
President and Co-Founder, No Boundaries International
Occupational Therapist, Trauma Therapeutic Intervention Specialist
1:00 pm - Saturday, November 23, 2024 Plenary Presentation
"If we survey the extensive natural disasters in our time - earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes and tsunamis - and combine those victims with the human atrocities - the violent inner cities, wars, genocides, human trafficking, homelessness, rapes and child abuse - we would have a staggering number. A look at suffering humanity leads to the realization that trauma is perhaps one of the largest opportunities in the twenty-first century. Learn the concepts of neuroscience that Dr. Lori Basey, with over 30 years of clinical experience, has been utilizing with marginalized populations across the globe. And even for therapists who aren’t on the front lines of natural and man made disasters, you can learn concepts that will enhance the work that you do with the population that you serve as all are suffering from a loss." Bio

She is a keynote presenter, delivering presentations to thousands and quoted throughout the globe in publications such as the Los Angeles Times, Huffington Post, Daily News America, Orange County Register, People, Times of Mumbai, Daily Oklahoman, and Sierra Leone Times.
