For more than 30 years, Patricia Ideran has dedicated herself to providing the best outcomes for her patients and to the continuing education of occupational therapists.  Particularly well versed in infant and toddler feeding disorders, Ideran has been instrumental in the development of the Children's Memorial/Central DuPage Feeding Clinic.  She began the pediatric occupational therapy program at Central DuPage Hospital, which includes the feeding clinic, neonatal follow-up clinic and the behavioral/developmental clinic.  An accomplished teacher and instructor she has been guest faculty at the Universities of Illinois, Kansas, Missouri and others.

 

OBJECTIVES:

1)    Participants will be able to identify 5 developmental areas within the 0-3 population that should be assessed and treated by Occupational Therapists.

2)    Participants will understand normal development of regulatory processes, sensory processing and motor planning the first 3 years of life.

3)    Participants will be able to recognize signs and symptoms of regulatory and sensory processing disorders in the 0-3 population

4)    Participants will be able to identify a variety of assessment strategies to use to evaluate infants and toddlers-up to 3 years old.

5)    Participants will be able to explain and discuss intervention strategies and home programming to implement with 0-3 year olds.
