Are you an occupational therapy professional curious about teaching, mentoring future practitioners, or building a career in academia? This webinar provides a practical and accessible introduction to the world of OT education.

Participants will explore academic roles, faculty expectations, and the diverse entry points available—from guest lecturing and adjunct positions to full-time faculty pathways. We will break down the skills, qualifications, and experiences that strengthen academic readiness and engagement. Attendees will leave with a clearer understanding of how to align their professional strengths, interests, and availability with academic opportunities and take meaningful next steps toward a future career in educational avenues.

1. Describe academic roles and opportunities across teaching, scholarship, and service within occupational therapy programs.
2. Identify translating and essential skills needed to transition from clinical practice to academic positions.
3. Evaluate multiple pathways into academia, including adjunct teaching, guest lecturing, clinical education, and additional opportunities.
4. Develop an individualized action plan outlining next steps for pursuing or preparing for a future academic career.
