
Erikson Institute, a graduate school in child development located in downtown Chicago, is seeking an experienced, pediatric occupational therapist to do contractual work for its Center for Children and Families clinic.
Job Description: Function as an interdisciplinary team member, completing family-centered assessments with children 0-8 years old. Contract requires a weekly commitment to work Wednesday mornings, at the Center for Children and Families from 8:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M. You can write reports from home and those reports are expected to be completed in 7-days. Case load is 2-3 cases per week.
Our interdisciplinary team consists of psychologists, a developmental behavioral pediatrician, speech pathologist and occupational therapist that specialize in addressing a wide range of concerns in infants and young children:
- Developmental delays and disorders, including autism spectrum disorder
- Attention issues and hyperactivity
- Depression, school anxiety, and separation anxiety
- Sleep or eating problems
- Aggression and sibling rivalry
- Parent/child relationship concerns
- Academic and learning issues
- Grief or sense of loss related to death in the family
- Trauma to the child or family, including trauma following accidents, surgery, or serious illness
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy.
- Must have a current Occupational Therapy license issued by the state of Illinois.
- Experience with pediatrics.
- Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of groups and individuals.
- Must relate well to children and their families.
- Must be able to work independently at times.
