Approved AOTA CEUs for Illinois EI (October 2021)

Message from Ashley Stoffel, OTD, OTR/L, FAOTA (October 2021)

Hi everyone,

I’m happy to share that 8 CE courses from AOTA have been approved in Illinois for EI credit. See the table below. The links should take you to the EITP page to access the courses. If you are an AOTA member, the cost per course is less.

We hope this collaboration provides additional OT-specific CE options for EI OTs and OTAs in Illinois. I want to thank Debbie Amini at AOTA and Susan Connor and Keena Sims at EITP for helping make this happen.

Please share with your occupational therapy colleagues!

Ashley

Also here is the link to the main EITP website and people could search for courses by putting “AOTA” in the sponsor section. https://eitp.education.illinois.edu/noneitpevents.html

ILOTA Leadership Development Program

Background

The purpose of the ILOTA Leadership Development Program (LDP) is to give practitioners the tools and training to become strong leaders within the profession.  We believe that the ILOTA LDP will support the profession’s efforts to attain the goals set out in Vision 2025, and to ensure that occupation therapy is influential in changing policies, environments, and complex systems that impact the health, well-being, and quality of life of the people, populations and communities occupational therapy serves.

The LDP was established to provide members of ILOTA with leadership training and ongoing mentorship, a unique path to developing leadership skills in Illinois by establishing mentor-mentee cohorts, as well as outcome-focused educational programs, to enable selected candidates to build a foundation of skills in leadership regardless of their field of endeavor. It accomplishes this by bringing individuals with a high degree of leadership skills together with those with less experience but who share a passion for personal and professional growth in leading. The LDP offers avenues for Occupational Therapy Practitioners (OTP) who are leading and assisting others in their work as well as for clinicians looking for ways to further their professional development to advance the growth of occupational therapy in Illinois.

The LDP committee is accepting applications in 2023 for mentors and mentees in this program for the 2023-2024 cohort of the LDP. Although the current cohort is already underway, the applications for each can be found below. Mentor applications are currently being received through July 31, 2023. Mentee applications are currently being received through July 31, 2023. Questions regarding the program and the application process can be directed to the Leadership Development Program through the ILOTA email address: [email protected].
