Jewish Child & Family Services provides vital, individualized, results-driven, therapeutic and supportive services for thousands of children, adults and families of all backgrounds each year, facing challenges with life transitions, mental health, developmental/intellectual disability and basic human need.

JCFS is looking to hire a fun, energetic and team-oriented Occupational Therapist who enjoys working with Speech and Developmental Therapists to create a whole child approach to treatment.  The Occupational Therapist will work with infants, toddlers, and young children with developmental disabilities and delays in their home and our two clinics.  This position is part time (up to 20 hours per week), with a fixed salary, and travel for the Early Intervention component of the program primarily in the North and West Suburbs.

What would you do?

Occupational Therapy

  • One-on-one direct therapy within the client's home or our clinic for infants, toddlers, and young children.
  • Performs the full range of clinical duties, including the gathering and analysis of data, formulation of treatment plans, and implementation of the intervention for routine and complex cases.
  • Performs assessments of each client using information provided, standardized tools and/or observation and formulates understanding of clients’ needs, including the family.
  • Provides parent education, modeling, and coaching as appropriate.

Program Support

  • Attends Team Meetings for consultation and guidance within a team setting.
  • Participates in agency staff development programs and professional group seminars or conferences to increase professional knowledge and to report on own work, at cost to JCFS

What have you done?

  • Completed a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Obtained Illinois Department of Professional Regulation State Licensure.

What are you able to do?

  • Obtain the Early Intervention (EI) Credential in Occupational Therapy with agency support. Existing EI credential preferred.
  • As this position requires site visits to locations which may or may not be accessible by public transportation, must be able to drive, have a valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle to travel in the Chicago metropolitan area.
  • Have a flexible schedule that allows for some late afternoon or early evening hours two days per week.
