The Communique is dedicated to informing ILOTA members of current issues, trends, and events impacting the practice of occupational therapy in Illinois. It is published quarterly by ILOTA and is a benefit of ILOTA membership. The Communique is published online and members receive an electronic PDF of the publication.

The Communique often includes articles related to:
  • Legislative updates - What is happening in Springfield related to our profession
  • New intervention or program ideas and outcomes- Unique approaches of practice in our state
  • Student voice - Illinois OT students share information about their experiences
  • Case studies/clinical spotlight- Illinois practitioners and their latest work or accomplishments
  • Research update- brief findings from a research study or project and clinical implications

Authors are encouraged to include images, but must obtain photo consent from anyone other than the authors whose image appears in the article. Please submit an ILOTA Photo Consent form with any images.

Voting is Now Open for the AOTA Proposed Bylaws

(Updated June 2022)

Now is the time to vote on the AOTA 2022 proposed Bylaws. Voting will be conducted by electronic ballot only. All OT, OTA, and student members of AOTA are eligible to vote. Voting is quick and easy!

Access the ballot and cast your vote. 

Voting Period
The voting period begins on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at 8:00 pm ET. All ballots must be received no later than Friday, June 24, 2022, at 11:59 am (before Noon) ET.

Proposed AOTA Bylaws Changes

We have compiled below various resources and information that you might find helpful regarding the proposed AOTA bylaws changes. Please note that some links lead to AOTA member-only website pages:

AOTA held a Bylaws informational session on April 28, 2022.

What happens next:

  • AOTA Leaders have scheduled an additional information session for May 24 at 8pm Eastern.

  • All eligible members have an opportunity to participate in voting on the proposed Bylaws. Voting will be held electronically over a 2-week period, from June 9 at 8 p.m. ET to June 24 at 11:59 a.m. ET
