Erikson Institute, a graduate school in child development located in downtown Chicago, is seeking an experienced, pediatric occupational therapist to do contractual work for its Center for Children and Families clinic. 

Job Description:  Function as an interdisciplinary team member, completing family-centered assessments with children 0-8 years old.  Contract requires a weekly commitment to work Wednesday mornings, at the Center for Children and Families from 8:30 A.M. – 1:00 P.M.  You can write reports from home and those reports are expected to be completed in 7-days.  Case load is 2-3 cases per week.  

Our interdisciplinary team consists of psychologists, a developmental behavioral pediatrician, speech pathologist and occupational therapist that specialize in addressing a wide range of concerns in infants and young children:

  • Developmental delays and disorders, including autism spectrum disorder
  • Attention issues and hyperactivity
  • Depression, school anxiety, and separation anxiety
  • Sleep or eating problems
  • Aggression and sibling rivalry
  • Parent/child relationship concerns
  • Academic and learning issues
  • Grief or sense of loss related to death in the family
  • Trauma to the child or family, including trauma following accidents, surgery, or serious illness

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

  1. Master’s degree in occupational therapy.
  2. Must have a current Occupational Therapy license issued by the state of Illinois.
  3. Experience with pediatrics.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively, through oral and written skills, and work cooperatively with a variety of groups and individuals.
  5. Must relate well to children and their families.
  6. Must be able to work independently at times.
